The Center for Great Neighborhoods
Nine out of ten homes built before 1940 have some lead-based paint – which can cause lead poisoning and lifelong harm to Northern Kentucky kids, especially those under 6 years old, as well as adults.
Tony Powell, from the Northern Kentucky Health Department, will be on-site teaching attendees why lead is toxic, dangerous and widespread in older urban areas, the principles of working safely around suspected lead paint, and knowing when and how contractors need to be trained and certified.
