District Director of Health: Lynne M. Saddler, MD, MPH
Lynne M. Saddler is the District Director of Health at the Northern Kentucky Health Department. In her position, Dr. Saddler oversees a staff of about 150 employees and a budget of more than $17 million. She also works closely with the District Board of Health and leadership in Boone, Campbell, Grant and Kenton Counties to assure the delivery of quality public health services to more than 400,000 residents. Further, she guided the Health Department in its effort to be among the first nationally accredited local health departments in the country.
Dr. Saddler began her tenure as District Director of Health in September 2010. Previously, she was the Assistant County Public Health Department Director for the Polk County (Fla.) Health Department for 12 years, where she was responsible for agency strategic planning, performance management, administrative services, health care system partnerships and preparation for accreditation. Prior to that, Dr. Saddler served as Director of Clallam County Health and Human Services in Port Angeles, Wash.
Dr. Saddler received a Bachelor of Science degree from Siena College, a Master of Public Health degree from the University of South Florida, and a medical degree from the State University of New York at Syracuse. She is an alumnus of the Public Health Leadership Institute of Florida and the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Northern Kentucky Class of 2015. Dr. Saddler is a member of the Kentucky Health Departments Association, Kentucky Public Health Association, the American Public Health Association, and the National Association of County and City Health Officials. She serves on a number of community boards and committees including Northern Kentucky University’s Health Innovations Center External Advisory Committee, the Northern Kentucky Heroin Impact Response Task Force, and Boone County Success by 6. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member with the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. In April 2015, Dr. Saddler was awarded the Henrietta Cleveland Inspiring Woman Award as part of the Outstanding Women of Northern Kentucky Awards.
