Julia Gottschalk: Employee of the Quarter

In her role as Clinic Manager at Kenton County Health Center, Julia ensures that the clinic is maintained and its staff/volunteers/students are supported in such a way that clients receive high quality clinical services essential to the health and safety of Northern Kentucky.

Since she started at NKY Health in 2009, Julia has held the role of Clinic RN, Clinical Coordinator, and Clinic Manager both at the Boone County Health Center (BCHC) and the Kenton County Health Center (KCHC).

Julia demonstrates consistently outstanding performance. The various positions Julia has held at NKY Health gives her added insight into optimizing each role in the clinic every day. Julia directs clinic staff in such a way that they better understand how their roles in the clinic affect the public health of our community. Julia stays connected to events, organizations and developing needs in the community, and uses these as reference points for furthering the mission of public health.

Julia consistently goes above and beyond the “call of duty.”  Julia is a role model to all in that she demonstrates a strong work ethic and always takes the extra step to improve the quality of services for clients and work-life for staff. Julia returned to KCHC at a time when the clinic needed to be stabilized.  She immersed herself in reorienting to KCHC, and successfully navigated staff, clients and visitors through the adjustment to new management, all while the building was without an elevator for nearly six months. Julia has returned to the office from her home (and sometimes from her boat) to address power outages and alarm systems going off on more than one occasion. Julia doesn’t hesitate to jump in and provide services so NKY Health clients receive timely and caring attention. She has been seen vaccinating, giving school physicals, assisting with family planning/STD/cancer screening, preparing supplies for the SAEP mobile unit, loading the van, and providing services from the van. Julia does not ask anyone to do anything she would not do herself.

Congratulations to Julia on her achievements!
