In his role as Registered Sanitarian II, R.J. coordinates and provides public health environmental services
essential for the health and safety of the Northern Kentucky community.
R.J. demonstrates consistently outstanding performance by displaying a high level of
technical knowledge over a wide range of job responsibilities. R.J. is one of three state-trained
Retail Food Specialists for NKY Health. As he handles both routine and non-routine matters, he
demonstrates a clear understanding of the purposes, practices and procedures of the Kentucky
Retail Food Code using the most appropriate action for a given situation. As the primary
instructor for NKY Health’s food safety certification course, R.J. also does a great job delivering
presentations that are well-received.
R.J. consistently goes above and beyond the “call of duty” by seeking and finding
improved methods to maximize coverage and efficiency as he coordinates 1,000 temporary food
service inspections per year at 325 separate events and with 14 Registered Sanitarians. Additionally, R.J. handles
with finesse and professionalism emergency situations that often involve multiple agencies,
occur outside normal NKY Health business hours, and can become political.
Congratulations to R.J. on his achievements!
