Supermarket Tour Offers Onsite Shopping Tips for
Preventing and Managing Diabetes
Free tour led by diabetes educators
FLORENCE, Ky. — The Northern Kentucky Health Department and the Northern Kentucky Diabetes Coalition will host a free supermarket tour to educate people with diabetes, those at risk of diabetes and their family and friends about healthy shopping tips. The tour will take place Tuesday, May 21 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Meijer located at 5400 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, Ky.
The tour will be led by a certified diabetes educator and/or a registered dietitian. Participants will stroll through the supermarket while learning about label reading, carbohydrate counting and pharmacy resources. They also will receive a reusable shopping bag filled with information and healthy food samples.
