On March 21, 2019 the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) announced the first cohort of reaccredited health departments and NKY Health is on the list! NKY Health is one of the first four health departments to achieve reaccreditation status in the nation.
What this means to the residents of the NKY Health District, is that they are being served by a health department that has met national standards for providing high quality public health services, leadership and accountability, and demonstrated their ability to assure the delivery of the 10 Essential Public Health Services. As we reported in the February edition of News N Views, the NKY Health official report indicated that ALL 31 MEASURES WERE DESIGNATED AS “MET” BY PHAB.
Accreditation and reaccreditation is not an individual effort. Congratulations are in order for NKY Health District, the NKY Health staff, community partners, county government and residents alike. NKY Health would like to thank all that contribute to our vision of becoming the “healthiest region in the nation.” It truly “takes a village” and we are honored to play our part by preventing disease, promoting wellness and protecting against health threats.
