Cancer screening, family planning and the WIC program are some of the services available to women at the Health Department.
The Health Department's HIV Case Management program falls under the Kentucky HIV/AIDS Care Coordinator program. It is a specialized form of case management for individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS infection. The KHCCP is also an umbrella for the Kentucky AIDS Drug Assistance Program and the Kentucky Health Insurance Continuation Program.
The primary goal of KHCCP is to promote client self-sufficiency. Care coordination consists of goal-oriented activities that create, locate, coordinate, and/or monitor a wide range of HIV/AIDS related health and human services. Care coordinators assist HIV/AIDS infected individuals in gaining access to needed medical, psychological, social and other services.
