As the Northern Kentucky Health Department prepares to launch a new diabetes prevention program this fall, its diabetes education team is offering several preview sessions for those interested in learning more about how to prevent the disease. The first is scheduled for 5:30 to 8:45 p.m. on Monday, July 15, at the Newport branch of the Campbell County Public Library, 901 E. Sixth St., Newport, Ky.
The course covers what is pre-diabetes, lifestyle changes such as how to eat and exercise, as well as the criteria for diagnosing. It will be taught by a Registered Nurse/Certified Diabetes Educator and a Registered Dietitian.
