Those who have been told that they have pre-diabetes or have a “touch of sugar,” will benefit from the education provided by the Health Department this month. The diabetes prevention class is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, at the R.C. Durr YMCA, 5874 Veteran’s Way, Burlington, Ky
The course covers what is pre-diabetes, lifestyle changes such as how to eat and exercise, as well as the criteria for diagnosing. It will be taught by a Registered Nurse/Certified Diabetes Educator and a Registered Dietitian.
Registration is not required, but is preferred. To register, please call Joan Geohegan, RN, at 859.363.2115 or Julie Shapero, RD, at 859.363.2116.
